Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and entrepreneur. She is most well-known for her role as Emily Fields, she is the star of the Freeform television show Pretty Little Liars. After her success with modeling, dance and acting, she took acting classes. Mitchell gained commercial roles and guest roles in TV series. She got her break, however, when she played Emily Fields' role in Pretty Little Liars. Critics and fans both praised her for her talent. The popular actress later gained a reputation through screenplays such as DreamlandMother's Dayand The belonging of Hannah Grace. She became more popular when she appeared in the psychological series You. Aside from actingShay is also a writer. She was co-author of Bliss an adult novel, alongside Michaela Blayne. Shay Mitchell, born April 10, 1987, in Ontario, Canada, was born to grandparents Mark Mitchell, and Precious Garca. Her mother is a Filipina, while her father is of Irish as well as Scottish heritage. Mitchell is also the cousin of Lea Salonga, a famed music theater performer and actress. Mitchell went to Rockridge Secondary school before she was transferred into West Vancouver Secondary. As she grew older, Mitchell had worked for several modeling companies all over the world. After a trip through Barcelona, Bangkok and Hong Kong she went back to Toronto and studied acting.
